Ballad o' Bracken Glen
In a heather-clad meadow where the mist hovers low
O'er the dyke wi the auld broken fence
Tak the wee cobbled path, mind yer rags oan the thorns
The land is mischievous, wild and dense
Then follow the twining hawthorn shrubs
Loup the gully as ye enter the wood
Halt for a moment while the wisps tak yer measure
They guide only those whose intentions are good
From there ye will hear faint laughter and song
As ye'r welcomed tae the realm o' the Fae
Where nature spirits dance in the gently blawin winds
Nudging ye farther doon the steep, mossy brae
Now, if ye pause where the bracken grows tall
Along the banks o' the whispering brook
Ye may catch a glimpse o' a red bushy tail
Charming ye deep intae a fern-covered neuk
And here ye'll arrive at a fine hootenanny
Like yer eyes have ne'er beheld
An assortment o' creatures all rather well dressed
Ye'll wonder if ye hinna been spelled
But this is the Glen where the wild things be
The guardians tae our earthy home
Wi banter and berries a plenty tae share
Come hither, there are fair felds tae roam
Where foxes, hedgehogs, badgers and moles
Much like us, just a wee bit more furry
Dance wi the Fae folk, sup tea and swap tales
Tak a toadstool and sit, dinnae scurrie
For this kinship o' creatures has magick tae share
Be ye a wee bairn, or big yin alike
Tae keep hope in yer heart and a spring in yer step
When ye find yirsel back o'er the dyke
But ach, dinnae fash, for the enchantment’s nae done
It’s within ye and aw folk tae ken
So be sure tae keep it alight, spread it far
In the fashion o’ clan Bracken Glen
